All loose ends are being tied up. One last big purchase [not counting the TV]: Counters. And those are being picked up tomorrow morning and also installed tomorrow.

Weekend Update

A lot of little things got done this weekend. I left my camera in the car, so I will upload tomorrow. But here are some of the things that are off of our list:

Appliances. Check.

Swap All Switches/Ouotlets. Check.
Start Weed Whacking. Checking.

The list goes on. Appliances get delivered tomorrow and I will be doing a little painting and staining tomorrow.

This shit is ridiculous. But also a very good reflection of our favorite town Oakland, of course not all of Oakland is like that as I worked there for almost 2 years, but let me tell you this: Welcome to the Jungle, mother fcker.

So I woke up naturally at 7:30 because sun just beams into my room throught my pseudo blinds [aka rosin paper]. Which reminds me, I need to call Nina Blinds, they said two weeks and its been 12 days. Got to keep them in check. So I will add that on my checklist. Waited for Comcast for an 8-10 time slot, they show up at 9:30. Not bad, the guy is really nice but really young. I think he is 22. He cannot find his drill bit and long story short. I traded him 4 drill bits [~40] for him to run my Cat-6 cable under the house. I could have done it, but it was easily worth the $40 to not look like Swamp Thing. So he looked like he just fought in 'Nam after cominng out of my crawl space and told me he didn't have money to buy a suit so he decided to drag dirt and mud all over the house. A couple of times...he had to go in and out. Not bad, took 3 and a half hours and he finished all of the downstairs but he was going to be late for his second appointment, so he had to take off. I have his email and phone number now, so I will holla at him when. I hope he takes the initiative and calls me to set up and appointment. He told me not to tell Comcast he didn't finish the job. I don't get it. Oh btw, he is a subcontractor. This story is actually really pointless except it resulted me spending one hour CLEANING the house tonight. I have internet and tv now at The Lamsion.

I also only have a  26" LCD I am borrowing from frozos.com. My car cannot find my 47" and I have yet to pull the trigger on a 73" or a 65". My car can't even fit a rake or a weed whacker. I borrowed those two things from Peter an hour ago. I was trying to be Asian and hang the dirty parts outside my window so my car wouldn't get dirty. Little did I know, once you hit 32mph wind drag and propel gardening tools out of your car. They both flew out and I slammed on my brakes, thank god the lady behind me wasn't driving like me [tailgating]. I ran out of the car and I see a Filipino family run out of their garage scream "YOUR MUFFLER FELL OFF." I had to reassure them it was just my toys for my yard. I picked it up and shamefully walked back to my car. Do they still work? Who knows. I will find out tomorrow. =X

WWFCF. What Would You Flip a Coin For?

Let's start on the easy side. Most of you would flip for a dollar? Right? Nothing really at stake but that rush is worth it. $10? $100? $1000? My friend/ex-carpool/Sleep Number Fcking Promoter/Poker Pro Kevin Yee would flip for anything. So I took that idea and applied it to my day. So I am willing to bet on anything as long as I have an edge, hence my former poker days and my current prop betting addiction.

Today was great. It was a Craigslist day. In case you bitches don't know what that is, it is equivalent to Christmas, but it is self proclaimed and can happen with 24 hours of notice. The night before you scour Craigslist and email 100 people about things you want. You lowball the shit out of them. Out of the 100, a couple will respond and bend to your demands. Then the next day you plot all of their addresses into Google Maps and you go to the bank and take out a stack of C's [C Niotes for you hip hop impaired] and make THE LOOP. Sometimes it is not a loop though, because you can't pick up two big items back to back, so sometimes you do an infinity sign or a fcking sigma sign. Nonetheless, Craigslist days are the best. I think better than UPS showing up with your Prime shipment. Instant gratification is always better, that is why we like strip clubs vs internet porn, right?

So my first stop was in Redwood Shores. Met a great guy who just redid his whole kitchen and first floor. Looked nice from the outside. I picked up 2 cabinets [please refer to yesterday's post]. He was really nice as someone came and bought everything but he held the two cabinets for me. There are nice people out there still! Not many, but still got hope [FORESHADOWING...] I picked up the two cabinets and got all Hulk on that mother fcker and dropped 2 drawers, cracked one. Whatever, I am a carpenter. I will fix it. I want to post pics of those bad boys in my kitchen, but I cannot find my camera.

After we got the cabinets and secured them to J's Silverado [big up to J for being a The Transporter today] I took us to U-Buffet. Shit is legit. Won't like them since they are in Belmont. My readers keep it real and don't trespass out there. We finish up and head to this guy's warehouse who advertises bedroom sets for 395 on Craigslist. I was like this shit is too good to be true. We walk into his shithole and he is on the phone and don't mind us. I could careless, he was in a flannel and looked like a hipster from Cap Hill.

Like that, so finally after 10 minutes he comes out and asks if we have any questions. I just tell him that I am looking for that good deal. He shows me some pieces of Kid Furniture for 395 and I laugh inside. I go home. Seriously? I wanted to tell him Big Boys make Big Boy Noise and we need Big Boy Toys. The set I would have walked out of there with was 825, so my theory is right. It is about 800 a set. I think Ikea on Craigslist is my solution. $50 bed anyone?

Then we drop off the cabinets and dry fit them in the kitchen:

Then we head out to Alma and pick this up:

We moved it from J's Truck [background] to Priscilla [foreground]. I had to drive from the Silver Creek Country Club to The Lamsion on Capitol Expressway. Talk about ineffecient. I was trying to get home asap so I could meet Mark and pick up this bad boy:

I get back to The Lamsion at 4:55 and call Mark. He says hey Pat did you want to come by and look at the TV. I was like no shit son, why you think I call? To cancel? Dumb Mother Fcker. So I head over and we have this conversation:

Mark: Hey Pat, welcome someone is already looking at the TV and 2 other people are on there way.

Pat: Ok.

Mark: So if you want it, let me know.

Pat: Ok. What if he wants it to?

Mark: So whoever gives me the money first gets it.

Pat: Ok. [This is the stupidest piece of shit Goldilock eating mother fcker.]

Pat: Ok, I see it works. Can I see the HDMI inputs?

Mark: There on the bottom.

Pat: Ok, here is $150.

Indian Guy: Here is $150. 

Pat: This isn't awkward.

Mark: Do you guys want to bid?

Pat: Are you kidding? I don't bid. This is a joke.

Why Can't I Pull The Trigger?

I never mulled over a decision for this long. To buy or not to buy. Fcking Select Comfort Sleep Number Mattress.

Sigh. Anyways. This is going to be a picture less post cause I haven't had any additions done to the house as we are in the purchasing mode [appliances, tv's, beds and etc].

So did a lot of furniture window shopping today. Figured its about 800 bucks for a set from an asian place. Still don't know. Can't decide. Spend 100 on an Ikea bed or 800 on a real set? Sigh.

Next...TV. Pretty set on a 65" DLP, just got to wait for the next deal on SD.

Appliances is pretty straight forward too. We plan on picking up one of those sets from Best Buy etc that are all inclusive for like 1500.

Countertops...Sigh. Just measured everything tonight and am going to get a couple of quotes tomorrow. Including a self built island. Which reminds me, this post won't be picture less.

I'm Making a List...

and checking it until its done.

These are the things that need to get done:

1. Find locks for the front door and the garage side door. Wanted Biometric, but think it is too fancy.

2. Island for our kitchen. Need to get some quotes and ideas. Maybe some counters too?

3. Finish cabinets: Re-sand 1 big door and re-stain it. Finish applying the con-tact paper. Hanging the rest of the doors and deciding what to do with the dishwasher.

4. Get a fridge. Also install an ice maker line.

5. Get an oven with a microwave that sits on top of it.

6. Finish caulking the baseboard and then painting those [can do it when I move in].

7. Find a bed/nightstand. Then a mattress.

8. Call Comcast [I need to stop lagging on this].

9. Fix both bath tubs [they don't hold water].

10. Put the finishing touches on all of the closet doors. [Handles and Tracks]

11. Texture around the fireplace and paint it.

12. Touch up all of the paint.

13. CLEAN THE FRONT and BACK YARD. =(

Number 13 just made me want to stop this list...I will continue it later.
